An ABC Primer – J IS FOR:

Welcome to the second of the Design Team Challenges.  At Cardz 4 Guyz (#342), this round, we are looking for cards that incorporates one or more of your initials for Namesake Day.  For me, that is the letter “J”.

I chose to CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) a card created by Stephanie Lanzalotto for Just Us Girls (#716).  Inspired by the Bold Color, the Die Cut Letters, a Figure and the use of Patterned Paper.  As my Figure, is an animal, I am sharing this card with Critter Crazy (#84).

Here is the result:

PLAYING IN THE RAIN – G4G342 – JUGS716 – 2CCCB84

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Crushed Curry cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Crushed Curry Lined Note Paper patterned piece of paper from the Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper pack.
    • The Left Edge was die-cut with the Spiral die from the Gorgeously Made Dies set.
  • Sentiment Wording: Crushed Curry cardstock.
    • All of the Letters were die-cut using the Mini Alphabet Dies set.
    • The Letters were arranged and adhered to the Note Paper to spell out: J is for a Jack Rabbit in a Jacket.
  • Focal Image: Basic White cardstock scrap.
    • The Rabbit image from the Playing in the Rain stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with both Stampin’ Blends Markers and retired Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers.  Colors chosen: Fur – Light and Dark Crumb Cake; Nose and Ears – Light Petal Pink; and Jacket – Medium and Dark Daffodil Delight.
    • The Rabbit was fussy-cut with Paper Snips.

The edges of the Note Paper were curled with a Bone Folder and added to the card base.  The Rabbit was popped up with Dimensionals.

Oh, Joy!  What a cute card for a little fellow…can be used for Easter or any other occasion.

Thanks for spending some more of your time with me today and I hope you will consider joining us at C4G as I would love to see what you create.  Cheers,  Jolanda!
