Hello, Friend

Welcome back!  Monday again…and we are off to a fine start with a clean and simple card.

Over at CAS of Friday (#278) the theme is Hello.  Over at Addicted to CAS (#253) the theme is Friends.  I selected the Freshly Made (#625) Sketch and the Color Dare (#589) palette for the card.

Here is the result:

HOPE YOU KNOW – FOURSQUARE DECORATIVE MASKS – TIMELESS CHARM DIES – COS278 – ATCAS253 – FMS625 – CD589

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Gorgeous Grape cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (5¼” x 4”) Basic White cardstock.
    • To create the sketch shapes, I used both a masking technique and stencils with Blending Brushes.
    • (1) Circle: A circle was die-cut from a piece of Grid Paper cut to (5” x 6½”) with the (1⅝”) Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.  The resultant Mask was set in place and Gorgeous Grape ink (for Royal) was added.
    • (2) Rectangle: A rectangle was die-cut from another piece of Grid Paper with the (3½” x 2”) Rectangle die from the On-Line Exclusive Radiating Stitches Dies set.  The Circle shape was covered with the previous die-cut Circle piece and the new Mask was set in place and Azure Afternoon ink (for Bluebird) was added.
    • (3) Side Panel: Both the Circle and the Rectangle were covered with the die-cut pieces as well as a straight edge from another piece of Grid Paper was set in place.  The Diamond Grid patterned Stencil from the Foursquare Decorative Masks set was fixed in place with Temporary Tape and Balmy Blue ink (for Periwinkle) was added.
    • All Masks were removed.
    • Sentiment: The sentiment, Hello, Friend, from the Hope You Know stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
  • Decoration: Basic White cardstock scrap die-cut with one of the Floral dies from the now retired On-Line Exclusive Timeless Charm Dies set.

The Background Panel was adhered to the card base and the Floral element was then added to complete the card.

Pretty colors for a very clean and simple friendship card.
