Framed Field Notes – Notes of Nature Sketch

I had a chance to play before class today…

Inspired by Creative Colour (#129) and Freshly Made (#624) to create a note card with the Notes of Nature and Lovely & Sweet stamp set duo.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
• Stamped Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The Field Notes image was stamped with 2^nd Generation Pecan Pie ink in the upper right-hand corner.
  • The Flowering Almond Branch was stamped with Smoky Slate ink.
  • The Grid image was stamped with 2^nd Generation Cajun Craze ink.
  • The Splatter image was stamped with Smoky Slate ink.
  • A bit of color was added to this field notebook drawing with the Cajun Craze and Old Olive Watercolor Pencils and Deep Almond from my Crayola Pencil Crayon collection – Colors of the World.
  • A Blender Pen was used to smooth out the colors but left raw on purpose to represent a quickly colored sketch.
• Color Block Framing: Pecan Pie, Cajun Craze and Smoky Slate cardstock scraps.
  • The Strips, (¾” x 4¾”) Pecan Pie dry-embossed with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder, (4¼” x ¾”) Cajun Craze dry-embossed with the Cross-Hatch Basics 3D Embossing Folder and (3½” x ⅝”) Smoky Slate dry-embossed with the retired Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.

The Stamped Panel and the Strips were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch layout creating a Botanical Note Card.
