Balloon Adventures – Happy Birthday

Welcome back!  I am having a bit of fun in the Studio…pulling out some oldies but goodies for a few challenges.

For the Global Design Project (#431), I picked Balloon Adventures and a few others to create my scene.  I selected the colors suggested by CAS Colours & Sketches (#530) and the Try a Sketch on Tuesday (#640) for the layout.

Here is the result:

BALLOON ADVENTURES – SO HOPPY TOGETHER – DESIGNER TEE – GDP431 – CC&S530 – TSOT640

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Tahitian Tide cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • Balloons: Basic White cardstock scraps.
    • Colored Scribbles were created using the Light Tahitian Tide and Light Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends Markers and the retired Medium Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blendabilities Marker which looks a lot like Crushed Curry.
    • The two Balloon images from the Balloon Adventures stamp set were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on the Tahitian Tide (Dots) and Poppy Parade (Stripes) colored pieces.  Using the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker, the outline of one of these stamps was used to stamp on the Crushed Curry (Solid) piece.
    • The Balloons were fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
  • Circle Element: (4” x 4”) Basic White cardstock die-cut with the (3¾”) Circle die from the retired Starburst Framelits Dies set.
    • The Balloons were positioned and the Strings were hand drawn with my Fine-Tipped Black Liquid Gel Pen.
    • The Starburst was then dry-embossed with the On Line Exclusive Floral Star Basics 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Shape – Frog: Basic White cardstock scrap.
    • The Happy Frog image from the retired So Hoppy Together stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with both the Light and Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends Markers.
    • The Frog was then die-cut with the coordinating die from the retired Hop Around Dies set.
  • Banner: (4” x ½”) Basic White cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, Happy Birthday, from the retired Designer Tee stamp set was stamped with Tahitian Tide ink.
  • Accent: Basic White cardstock scrap with scribbled Daffodil Delight coloring was die-cut with the small Bow die from the coordinating Balloon Pop Up Framelits Dieis set.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch altered to A2 format.  The Balloons and the Frog were popped up with Dimensionals.

A fun and colorful clean and simple birthday card.
