Painted Lavender – Hope You Know

Hi!  I finally have time for the Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#445) sketch which I altered to better suit my idea.  It is Thursday and also time for the Facebook Stampin’ Through the Catalog stamp set choice for today, Painted Lavender.

Just I was selecting my greeting, my husband popped into the Studio to let me know that the father of a family friend had passed away.  Not my favorite card to make, a sympathy card, but I thought my design would work really well for this occasion.  I selected a greeting from the Hope You Know stamp set.  

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Crumb Cake cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Gorgeous Grape Subtle Floral patterned piece of paper from the coordinating Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper pack.
  • The sentiment, Wishing You Comfort, from the Hope You Know stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
  • A (2½”) Circle Opening was created with the Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
• Underlay: (3¼” x 3¼”) Small Floral patterned piece of paper from the same Designer Series Paper pack.
• Overlay: (3¼” x 3¼”) Vellum.
  • The Butterfly image from the Painted Lavender stamp set was also stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
• Decoration (1) – Circle Vine: (3½” x 3½”) Pretty Peacock cardstock die-cut with the Open Leaf Circle die from the Lifetime of Loves Dies set.
• Decoration (2) – Lavender Spray: Pretty Peacock, Gorgeous Grape and Fresh Freesia cardstock scraps die-cut with dies from the coordinating Painted Lavender Dies set.
  • The Floral Spray was tied together into a bunch with a bit of Linen Thread.

The pieces were arranged to resemble most of the elements of the original sketch transformed into an A2 card format.

Into the world we come, hoping to live a life well lived and pass into eternity trusting we are well remembered.
