Translucent Florals – Four Square

Welcome back!  We had a really great class this afternoon.  I taught the Four-Square Stamping Technique and played around with the As You See It (#315) Colors for a truly #simplestamping card.  Just Stamps, Ink and Paper.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Cards Fronts: (11” x 8½”) Basic White cardstock
  • Using various stamps from the Translucent Florals stamp set (still available On-Line), a stamped Cross Collage was created.
  • The Large Leaf image was stamped with Granny Apple Green ink.
  • The Medium Flower image was added with Crushed Curry ink.
  • The Large Flower image was then added with Melon Mambo ink.
  • The Double Leaf image was then added with Mossy Meadow ink to fill in a few gaps.
  • Keeping the collage uncluttered, I selected the Splatter image from the retired Waterfront stamp set, as it was still on my desk from yesterday, and added the Dots with Mossy Meadow ink.
  • The cardstock sheet was then cut in four (5½” x 4”) pieces.
  • For this card, I chose the Hello sentiment from the Free Sale-a-bration stamp set, Heartfelt Hellos and stamped it with Mossy Meadow ink.
  • The card front was further trimmed to (5” x 3¾”).

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Mossy Meadow cardstock.
• Accent Panel: (5¼” x 4”) Melon Mambo cardstock.

All layers were adhered together.  I added a couple of Brushed Brass Butterflies to complete the card.

Love using this technique.  Four card fronts are ready in a jiffy and the collage style allows for imperfection and creativity.
