Welcome to Sunday and the newest Paper Players (#674) challenge. Jaydee has given us a Slim Line sketch to work with and I opted for the smaller version.

On another card that I created using the stamp set Of Art & Texture, an On-Line Exclusive product, one of the images reminded me of a Pine Tree. That being said, the Facebook SU! Only Colour selection for January was perfect match for Trees.

Here is the result:

Steps:
- Card Base: (6” x 7” scored at 3½”) Pecan Pie cardstock.
- Accent Mat: (5½” x 2¾”) Early Espresso cardstock.
- Focal Panel: (5¼” x 2½”) Basic White cardstock.
- The smaller Texture image was stamped five (5) times at varying heights with Granny Apple Green ink.
- One Line from the Lined image was colored with the Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker and stamped in the center of the previous stamped images to represent Tree Trunks.
- The sentiment, Best Wishes, from the Sentimental Park stamp set was stamped with Pecan Pie in the lower right corner.
- The little Scatter Dots image, from the Petal Park stamp set was also stamped randomly with 2nd Generation (stamped off once) Pecan Pie ink.
- To reflect the “Boxes” that are present in the sketch, I used the Big Shot Embossing Mats with my Big Shot Machine to dry-emboss the frames around the Trees using the (1¼” x 1¾”) die from the retired Stitched Rectangles Framelits Dies set.
I kept the card clean and simple as I thought this would be an excellent masculine birthday card.

What a fun way to make trees! And I love the subtle detailed embossing around them as well! Clever!

This is so clever Jolanda – those trees are really eye-catching but my favourite element of your design is the embossed frames, they really are so effective. This is a really modern, artsy card. Bravo!

Jolanda, I love the embossed squares in the background that help to anchor those florals – they really do look like pines. Thanks for making my sketch shine this week

Such a clever and creative card, Jolanda! I really love how you created the trees. However, those embossed stitched rectangle frames really steal the show!
