Welcome back! A bunch of ideas have been percolating in my brain as I pondered what to do with sets of colors, some open themes, a tool usage and various sketches. These were the ones I settled on.
Firstly, the colors: Facebook’s Colour INKspiration (#158); then the theme: TGIF (#456); thirdly using stencils for Just Us Girls (#712); and then the sketch: Atlantic Hearts (#561).

Here is the result:

Steps:
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
- Tri-Split Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) made up of three parts: Left – (4¼” x 5½”) Basic White cardstock; Right Top – (4” x 3½”) Pool Party Watercolor Wash patterned piece of paper from the On-Line Exclusive Delightful Floral Designer Series Paper pack; and Bottom Right – (3” x 3”) Dotted patterned piece of paper from the retired Friendly Hello Designer Series Paper pack.
- Using a Blending Brush, the Square Trellis Stencil from the Foursquare Decorative Masks set and Pool Party ink, the Basic White cardstock was colored.
- The resultant patterned paper was then cut on the diagonal at the (¾”) mark from the top to the bottom and trimmed to (5¼”).
- The Dotted patterned paper was cut on the true diagonal.
- All pieces were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.
- Focal Image Panel – Birthday Cake: (2¾” x 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
- Using three widths of Washi Tape, from my stash, (¼”), (½”) and (⅝”), the Cake Layers were created.
- The cardstock was then colored with Petal Pink ink applied with a Blending Brush.
- The colored piece was then die-cut with the (2½” x 3¾”) Scalloped Rectangle die from the Scalloped Contour Dies set.
- The Washi Tape was removed.
- Using the Medium-Tipped Water Painter Brush, Pool Party, Fresh Freesia and Blueberry Bushel inks, the Cake Layers were water-colored.
- Once dry, I doodled the Cake Stand, defined the Cake Layers and added the Floral Detail using my Pentel Fine-Tipped Black Liquid Gel Pen.
- Additional coloring was done using Stampin’ Blends Markers. Colors chosen: Cake Stand – Dark Petal Pink; Flowers – Light Pool Party, Fresh Freesia and Blueberry Bushel; and Leaves – Dark Pool Party.
- A liberal application of Glitter from the Wink of Stella® Clear Brush was added to Cake Layers and the Flowers. Looks really pretty but may not show so up too well in the photograph.
- The sentiment, Happy Birthday, from the Circle Sayings stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
- The Focal Panel was added with Dimensionals.

This is a wonderful way to say Happy Birthday, Jolanda! I like that your stenciled color picks up color from one of the cake layers. Thanks so much for sharing this with us at Just Us Girls!
