Enduring Beauty – Birthday Wishes

It’s Friday in Australia and that means Just Add Ink (#685) is back for 2024 and starting off with a Floral theme.

I am combining several other challenges that are complimentary.

Over at Global Design Project (#428), they are looking for a CASE (copy and selectively edit) of Cindy Timmers card.  My take-aways: flowers, general layout including three elements, a sentiment strip, and patterned paper as well as the overall color impression. Additionally Beautiful Blossoms (Special) has their First Year Anniversary/Birthday theme going on.

I selected the current Creative Colours (#124) to complete the card and chose to share with Make My Monday (#217) for their Birthday theme.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Lemon Lolly cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Flirty Flamingo / Daffodil Delight Cross Hatch water colored patterned piece of paper from the Hello, Irresistible Designer Series Paper pack, an On-Line Exclusive item.
• Focal Image – Floral Spray: (4¼” x 5½”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The Floral image from the Enduring Beauty stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Copper Embossing Powder.
  • Selected Flowers and Leaves were water-colored with the Fine-Tipped Water Painter Brush picking up ink from the Ink Pad Lids.  Colors selected: Lemon Lolly with Daffodil Delight shadowing; Flirty Flamingo with Calypso Coral shadowing; and Crumb Cake.
  • Once dry, the selected section was fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
• Sentiment Label: Flirty Flamingo cardstock scrap.
  • The sentiment, Birthday Wishes, from the Stippled Roses stamp set was also stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Copper Embossing Powder.
  • The sentiment was trimmed to (2” x ⅜”).

All elements were arranged to resemble the layout of Cindy’s original card.  The Sentiment was popped up with Dimensionals and the Leaves have naturally curled due to the water-coloring.
