Butterfly Accents – Nature’s Prints Best Wishes

Welcome to Sunday and the newest Paper Players challenge.  Anne Marie has selected a favorite of mine.  Black and White with a pop of color.

I selected the TGIF (#455) Sketch and the Rock & Roll Designer Series Paper for today’s clean and simple, #simplestamping card.

Here is the result:

PAPER BUTTERFLY ACCENTS – NATURE”S PRINTS – ROCK & ROLL DSP – PP672 – TGIFC455

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic Black cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (5¼” x 4”) White and Black Painted Texture patterned piece of paper.
    • The sentiment, Best Wishes & Happy Thoughts, from the Nature’s Prints stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Black Embossing Powder.
  • Cross Strip: (4⅛” x ½”) Pumpkin Pie cardstock scrap.
  • Support Rectangle: (3½” x 2½”) Black Speckled patterned piece of paper.
  • Focal Shape – Butterfly: Paper Butterfly Accents Large Butterfly colored with Basic Gray, Flirty Flamingo, Calypso Coral and Pumpkin Pie inks applied with Blending Brushes.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Butterfly was popped up with thin strips of cut Dimensionals.

Just stamps, ink and paper used to create a lovely black and white card with a pop of color.

  1. So much to love about this card Jolanda! The faux textured paper makes a great base (I never know how to use these type of patterns!) and the pop of orange is fabulous – and not a mention of Halloween in sight (the only time I ever seem to use this colour!) The blended inking on the butterfly makes for a wonderful focal point – just gorgeous!
