Starry Night – Winter Wonderland Silent Night

Hi!  I am supposed to be getting ready for Holiday company and what am I doing?  Playing with my stamps, ink and paper….

Deadlines are on the horizon: As You See It (#313) a speed challenge incorporating Stars.  Can I do it in less than 10 minutes?

I went a little literal by choosing the Tuesday Morning (#737) Sketch which I flipped to the horizontal position and chose the colors suggest by Color Dare (#577).  I am also sharing this card with Farm Quest Christmas (#3) because this is a scene, I would hope to see from my Cottage or Farmhouse window.

I set myself up for success and then hit the Timer:

Here is the result:

WONDERLAND – ADD A LITTLE GLITZ – AYSI313 – TMS737 – CD577 – FQCCCB03

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic Black cardstock.
  • Card Front: (4¼” x 5½”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The card front was patted with the Embossing Buddy to reduce static and fingerprints.
    • The Star image from the retired Add a Little Glitz stamp set was stamped several times with Versamark ink and then heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
    • Using Blending Brushes and colored ink pads, the colors were added to the background.  I started with Bubble Bath in the center and then Highland Heather above and below followed by Gorgeous Grape, Afternoon Azure and finally Misty Moonlight.
    • Using a Tissue, I polished the ink off of the Stars.
    • The card front was again dusted with the Embossing Buddy.
    • The Pine Tree image and the sentiment, Silent Night, from the retired Wonderland stamp set was then stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Black Embossing Powder.
    • The card front was trimmed to (4” x 5¼”) and adhered to the card base.
  • Hit the Timer: I’m doneDid I make it in time?

I kept my design as clean and simple as possible to create a pretty card in less than 10 minutes.

Thanks for coming along on this journey with me.   Cheers,  Jolanda!
