Floral Birthday Wishes

Inspiration: The Flower Challenge (#87) for Subject and the addition of Gold; Color: Colorful Options (December) Silver & Gold and always a Rainbow; Materials: Inkspirational (#304) Add Glitter; Layout: Facebook’s Case-ing Tuesday (#438) Sketch found on page 38 of the September – December Mini Catalog.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Mossy Meadow cardstock.
• Left Panel: (3½” x 4¼”) Brushed Silver cardstock (retired) die-cut with the Diagonal Square patterned die from the Brilliant Backgrounds Dies set.
• Center Square: (3¾” x 3¾”) Very Vanilla Glimmer Specialty Paper (retired).
• Focal Image – Flower: (4” x 4”) Brushed Gold cardstock (retired) die-cut with the Floral die from the Artistic Dies set.
  • The Floral die-cut was adhered to the Glimmer Paper and then the image was colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Rose – Light and Dark Cherry Cobbler; Daisy – Light and Dark Daffodil Delight; Posies – Light Melon Mambo; and Leaves – Light and Dark Old Olive.
• Sentiment Banner: Mossy Meadow cardstock scrap.
  • The sentiment, Best Birthday Wishes, from the new Stippled Roses stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
  • The Banner was trimmed on the diagonal and popped up with Dimensionals.

There you have it.

I love taking a sample from the Stampin’ Up! catalogs and re-making it.  Such a great starting point when you need inspiration.  You can copy it completely, use just the stamp set, use just the layout, change the measures…the choice is yours. Even during the Christmas season, we have friends and family who have birthdays.  The shimmer and shine of this card is quite lovely and I am sure my friend will love it!
