Welcome back! Do you ever find that you need a quick card (or two) but don’t have a lot of time? I sure do and that is why I love to create “spotlight” inchies. One great image as the focal point and a simple greeting can create a super clean and simple card.
Inspiration: Paper Players (#669) and Retro Rubber (#221) are featuring Christmas with some lovely photographs for prompts and Stampin’ Up! Only (#341) is following suit with the Christmas theme.

From Paper Players I am attracted to the photograph of the single gift package and of course the traditional colors. From Retro Rubber, I am pulling the traditional holiday colors of red, green and white along with the seasonal foliage. I selected to create the two cards, with one specifically featuring the colors suggested by TGIF (#449).

Here is the result:

Steps:
- Card Base: (11” x 4¼” scored at 5½”) Thick Basic White cardstock.
- The sentiments, Season’s Greetings and Celebrate the Season from the retired Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set (circa 2019) were stamped on to the card fronts with Real Red and Shaded Spruce inks, respectively.
- Accent Square Scallop: Real Red and Shaded Spruce cardstock scraps die-cut with the (1¼”) Square Scallop die from the retired Layering Squares Framelits Dies set.
- Focal Image(s) – Holly Leaf and Poinsettia: Basic White cardstock scraps.
- The Holly Leaf and the Poinsettia images from the retired Timeless Tidings stamp set (circa 2018) were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
- The images were colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers. Colors selected: Holly Leaf – Light and Dark Granny Apple Green and Real Red and Poinsettia – Light and Dark Cherry Cobbler and Light Daffodil Delight.
- The images were die-cut with the coordinating (1⅛”) Square die from the same Dies set.
To complete the cards, the images were adhered to the accent mats and popped onto the card fronts with Dimensionals. So quick, but so striking.

Love these cards and the way the focal image is a gorgeous focal point with such a wide negative space around it. It reminds me of pictures framed with a wide mat.
