Springtime Flower – Happy Birthday

Several challenges are coming due, and I have a few weekend plans, so I am working on getting them done…

Next up: Atlantic Hearts (#554) for the Sketch; Cupcake Inspiration (#583) for the Colors; and Happy Little Stampers (December) for the Theme.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (7” x 6” scored at 3½”) Night of Navy cardstock for a Mini Slim-Line card.
• Background Panel Top Block: (3” x 2”) Night of Navy piece of paper from the retired Brushstroke Specialty Paper.  See image below for detail – it is so pretty.
• Background Panel Bottom Block: (3” x 4”) Gold and White Grid patterned piece of paper from the retired Flowering Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper pack.
• Sentiment Strip: (3” x ¾’) Gold colored piece of paper from the retired Brushed Metallics cardstock pack.
  • The sentiment, Happy Birthday, from the Mixed Medley stamp set was stamped into Versamark ink and then into Night of Navy ink and carefully stamped so as not to slide on the metallic surface.
  • The sentiment was then heat-set with Clear Embossing Powder.  The Night of Navy did darken the sentiment but not as dark as expected but I like the resultant dark Gold embossed look.
• Decoration – Flower: Flower and Leaf elements from the retired Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper pack fussy cut with Paper Snips.
  • The Leaf elements were colored with the Light Night of Navy Stampin’ Blends Marker.

All the cut pieces were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Flower was popped up with Dimensionals and three Blue colored retired Adhesive-Backed Milky Dots were added.

A classic color combination resulting in an elegant birthday card.
