Seasonally Layered Leaves – Happy Birthday

Totally love Holiday breaks.  Lots of time to craft.  Let’s have some fun!

This afternoon I am playing with AAA Cards (#253) and their Fall theme; Seize The Birthday (#274) for the same; Alphabet (Letter Q) for Four of something; Retro Rubber (#220) Tic Tac Toe Board elements; and Color Dare (#576) for the color choices.

Here is the result:

GUY GREETINGS – SEASONAL LAYERS THINLITS DIES – AAACC253 – STB274 – ALPHABET Letter Q – RRCB220 – CD576

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Very Vanilla cardstock (for Shortbread).
  • Background Panel: (4⅛” x 5⅜”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
  • Frame: (3” x 4¾”) Pecan Pie cardstock (for Acorn) die-cut with the (2⅞” x 4½”) and (2⅜” x 4”) Elongated Hexagon dies from the Countryside Corners Dies set.
  • Leaf Underlay: (5” x 5”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
    • Using Blending Brushes, Early Espresso, retired Soft Succulent, Pretty Peacock and Pecan Pie inks were added to each corner area.
    • Using the Solid Leaf die from the retired Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies set, each Leaf Underlay was die-cut.
  • Leaves: Early Espresso (for Mocha), retired Soft Succulent (for Sage), Pretty Peacock (for Pine) and Pecan Pie cardstock scraps were die-cut with the coordinating Leaf Skeleton die from the same die set.
  • Sentiment Label: (2⅜” x ¾”) Pecan Pie cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, Happy Birthday, from the retired Guy Greetings stamp set (circa 2015) was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
    • The Label was die-cut with the smallest Countryside Corners die.
    • Linen Thread was wrapped around the left-side edge of the Label.

All elements were adhered to the card base. Two Leaves and the Sentiment Label were popped up with Dimensionals.

A great Fall themed Birthday card that works for a fellow but is suitable for all.

  1. You’ve created such a great birthday card, so perfect for the season. The leaves are so fitting to the leaves that are currently falling from the trees. The earthy shades with a touch of turquoise give an interesting colour combination, and the CAS design creates a wonderful masculine birthday card. Thanks for joining the Alphabet challenge.

    Hugs, Veronika
