Biggest Wish – Happy Birthday

One last card for today…to celebrate the birthday of Laurel, who runs the Inspired By challenges.

So, here we go:  Global Design Project (#421) for the specific colors that can also be found in Laurel’s Inspiration Photo, Inspired By (#264).  I chose Tic Tac Toe (#236) for the diagonal line, Stamping, Layers and Free and the Try Stampin’ On Tuesday (#633) Sketch with the Bold Statement option to bring them all together.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Pool Party cardstock.
• Background Panel: (5½” x 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The words, HAPPY and birthday, from the Biggest Wish stamp set were stamped in the center with Lemon Lime Twist and Poppy Parade inks.
• Border Panels: (5½” x 1”) Basic White, Lemon Lime Twist, Poppy Parade and Pool Party cardstock scraps.
  • The colored cardstock was cut in (¼”) strips and adhered to the Basic White strips.
  • The tri-colored strips were trimmed to (¾”) and dry-embossed with the Cross-Hatch patterned Basics 3D Embossing Folder.
  • The final cut sizes were: 2 @ (4½”) and 2 @ (3¼”).
  • The tri-colored strips were adhered to the edges of the stamped panel.
• Decoration: Poppy Parade, Lemon Lime Twist and Basic White cardstock scraps.
  • The Flower and the Leaf were die-cut with various dies from the Chic Dies set and added to the right top corner of the panel.  The Flower was popped up with Dimensionals.

A fun, bright birthday card…
