Eye Catching Ikat – Hygge Blanket Thanks

Welcome back!  Finding a little “me” time, I was able to play in the Studio this afternoon.

The challenges: Inspired By (#263) Blankets; Color Dare (#574) Tic Tac Toe Board Colors; and Sunday Stamps (#322) for the Sketch bringing it all together.

Here is the result:

EYE CTCHING IKAT – SWEET CITRUS – IB263 – CD574 – SSC322

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Pecan Pie cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4⅛” x 5⅜”) Pecan Pie cardstock dry-embossed with the Cross-Hatch patterned Basics 3D Embossing Folder for the texture of a textile.
  • Large Rectangle: (3” x 4¼”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
    • The Zig Zag image from the retired Eye Catching Ikat stamp set was stamped with Pecan Pie ink (for Acorn).
    • Using a Blending Brush, Crumb Cake ink was blended over top to soften the brightness.
    • The panel was dry-embossed with the retired Subtle 3D Embossing Folder in both directions, again for texture.
    • Using a Sponge Dauber, Pecan Pie ink was added to the edges for definition.
  • Cross Strip: (3⅝” x 1¼”) Very Vanilla cardstock scrap.
    • Other Ikat images from the same stamp set were stamped with Pumpkin Pie ink (for Pumpkin) and a Pecan Pie Circle Spot was added.
    • Using another Blending Brush, retired Peach Parfait ink (for Honey Butter) was added.
    • The Strip was dry-embossed with the retired Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder and the edges were highlighted with Pecan Pie ink.
  • Circle Shape: (1⅜”) Pecan Pie cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, Thanks a Bunch, from the Sweet Citrus stamp set was stamped Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
    • The Sentiment was die-cut with that sized Circle die from the Deckled Circles Dies set and also edged with Pecan Pie ink.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch and both the Cross Strip and the Sentiment Circle were popped up with Dimensionals.

Blankets and Throws are soft and cozy and the added textures help enhance that Hygge feeling.
