Your Special Day – Inspired Thoughts

Welcome back! Another invitation…as a Guest Designer for Seize the Birthday.  It was fun conceiving and creating this card!

I chose the layout from Sketch Saturday (#738) and chose to add Die elements for Happy Little Stampers (November).

Here is the result:

INSPIRED THOUGHTS – WATERCOLOR WASH – STB273 – SS738 – HLS Dies November 2023

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Smoky Slate cardstock.
  • Accent Mat: (4” x 5¼”) Pebbled Path cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (3¾” x 5”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
    • To represent the four (4) blocks, I selected the retired Watercolor Wash background stamp.
    • I added Pecan Pie, Gray Granite, Crumb Cake and Smoky Slate inks to the stamp.
    • The stamp was lightly spritzed with water from a Stampin’ Sptitzer.
    • The cardstock was gently laid down over the upturned stamp and pressed with a Brayer to transfer the ink to the paper.
    • The image was allowed to dry.
  • Decoration: From the Pebbled Path Accent Mat, the Leaf image from the Gorgeously Made Dies set was die-cut.
  • Sentiment: Pecan Pie cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, Thinking of You on your Special day, from the retired Inspired Thoughts stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
    • The Sentiment was die-cut with the Torn Tape die, also from the Gorgeously Made Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Sentiment was popped up with Dimensionals.

I like the “grungy” look and feel of the neutral-colored image used on this card – so perfect for a fellow!
