Handcrafted Ornament – Holiday Card

Welcome back!  I thought I would share one of the cards we created in class today.

I was inspired by a couple of color challenges, both very similar, Sunday Stamps (#321) and Shopping Our Stash (#508).  I was drawn to the blue/green and yellow/gold tones.  For my overall design, I chose Just Us Girls (#703) for an elegant clean and simple card with a centered image.

Here is the result:

HANDCRAFTED ELEMENTS DIES – SSC321 – JUGS703 – SOS508

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Pecan Pie cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”).
    • Left Split – (3” x 5¼”) Pretty Peacock cardstock dry-embossed with the Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder.
    • Right Split – (1” x 5¼”) Foiled/Pretty Peacock patterned piece of paper from the All About Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Focal Image – Christmas Ornament: Gold Foil and Lost Lagoon cardstock.
    • The two coordinating Ornament dies from the Handcrafted Elements Dies set were die-cut. The center Gold Cut-Out was added behind the Lost Lagoon Oval which was then added behind the Gold Cut Ornament.
    • A bit of Gold Simply Elegant Trim was looped through the top of the Ornament.

All elements were arranged and adhered to the card base.  The Beautiful Ornament takes center stage and is popped up with Dimensionals.

Such an elegant Holiday card in the rich jewel tones.
