Peaceful Boughs – Season’s Greetings

Tuesday Design Time.  Combining the Hand Stamped Sentiments (#426) Inspiration challenge with the Case-ing Tuesday (#432) sketch.

I was inspired by the Pinecones in the Wooden Crates.  I do not have the new Precious Pinecones stamp set, so I opted to use a favorite retired bundle, the Peaceful Boughs stamp set and the coordinating Beautiful Boughs Dies set which debuted in 2019.

Other design choices were inspired by Can You Handle The Pressure (#42), Tic Tac Toe (#232) and Retro Rubber (#218)

Here is the result:

PEACEFUL BOUGHS – BEAUTIFUL BOUGH DIES – HSS426 – CT432 – CYHTP42 – TTTC232 – RRCB232

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Crumb Cake cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Garden Green cardstock.
    • Using the Big Shot Machine and the companion Big Shot Embossing Mats, the three Bough dies from the Beautiful Boughs Dies set, were dry-embossed onto the panel.
  • Accent Panels: (3” x 4”) Woodgrain and Scattered Pinecone pieces of patterned paper from the retired Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper pack were cut.
  • Focal Panel: (1⅞” x 3”) Basic White cardstock dry-embossed with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder and highlighted with Crumb Cake ink using a Sponge Dauber.
  • Decoration – Pinecones and Bough Branches: Garden Green, Early Espresso and retired Soft Suede cardstock scraps die-cut with dies from the Beautiful Boughs Dies set.
  • Sentiment: Soft Suede cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, Season’s Greetings, from the Peaceful Boughs stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
    • The Greeting was die-cut with the (2⅜” x 1”) Rectangle die from the Deckled Rectangles Dies set.

All elements were adhered to resemble the sketch.  The larger Pinecone was popped up with Dimensionals.  Several Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots were added to complete the card.

  3. Just beautiful, Jolanda – still one of my favorite sets, too, lol. I LOVE how you dry embossed that background with the dies – I have to remember to do that more often!
