Classic Christmas – Tidings of Joy

Happy Thursday!  Can you believe that in two months Christmas will have passed?  Time to get cracking on those cards.

Playing with several challenges:  This month Stampin’ Up! ‘s Creative Challenge is to use unconventional colors for a Holiday card.

I selected the one’s suggested by Color Dare (#570) to create a Fun Fold card for Inspire Create (#154) by case-ing a card created by Karen Farquhar, using the Stampin’ Through The Catalog stamp set choice for today, Christmas Classics.  I am sharing this card with Creative Creases (#68) and Krafty Chicks (#687).

Update: What fun! I am a winner…at both Color Dare and Inspire Create:

Here is the result:

CHRISTMAS CLASSICS BUNDLE – CCSU October 2023 – CD570 – IC154 – STTC – CCC68 – KCC687

Steps:

  • Card Base: (11” x 4¼” scored at 5½”) and (11” x 4¼” scored at 5½” and 2¾”) Smoky Slate (for Mink) cardstock.
    • The two bases were adhered together to create a Step Card (versus a Double Z-Fold).
  • Accent Mats: (4” x 5¼”) and (4” x 2½”) Pretty Peacock cardstock.
  • Background Panels: (3¾” x 5”) and (3¾” x 2¼”) Silver and White patterned piece of paper from the Snowflake Magic Specialty Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Focal Image Panel: (4” x 4”) Pretty Peacock (for Journey).
    • The Foliage Trimmed Sentiment Block was die-cut with one of the dies from the coordinating Christmas Classics Dies set.
  • The Sentiment Block: (2½” x 2½”) Basic White cardstock scrap.
    • The Block was die-cut with another of the dies from the same set.
    • From the Christmas Classics stamp set, the greeting, Tidings of Comfort & Joy, was stamped with Pretty Peacock ink and the little Flourish was stamped with Bubble Bath ink (for Ballerina).
  • Foliage Accents: Basic White and Bubble Bath cardstock scraps.
    • The Fern image was stamped with Bubble Bath ink onto Bubble Bath cardstock and die-cut with the matching die.
    • The Holly image was stamped with Pretty Peacock ink onto Basic White cardstock and colored with the Pool Party (for Glacier) Stampin’ Blend Marker and then die-cut with the matching die.
    • The Holly Berries image was stamped with Bubble Bath ink onto Basic White cardstock and die-cut with the matching die.

All elements were adhered to the card base for a cool Christmas Fun Fold Step card.
