Ocean Front – A Note of Thanks

Tuesday – Design time and today I am combining Cardz 4 Guyz (#329) theme with the Hand Stamped Sentiments (#421) colors.

A few other challenges are sporting a similar theme, so I incorporated their requirements into the card as well:  Festive Friday (#141) and Facebook Joy of Sets (August).

Here is the result:

OCEAN FRONT – CIRCLE SAYINGS – SENDING SMILES – C4G329 – HSSCC421 – FF0141 – JOS August 2023

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Misty Moonlight cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
    • The panel was dry-embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder.
    • Using a light hand and a Sponge Dauber, the embossed text was highlighted with Crumb Cake ink.
  • Accent Mat: (3” x 4¼”) Misty Moonlight cardstock die-cut with that sized Rectangle die from the Deckled Rectangles Dies set.
  • Focal Panel: (2⅝” x 4”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
    • The Beach scene was built with images from the Ocean Front stamp set.
    • 1) Sand Wedge – Crumb Cake ink
    • 2) Water – 2nd Generation (stamped-off once) Misty Moonlight ink.
    • 3) Sky and Sun – 3rd Generation (stamped-off twice) Misty Moonlight ink and Lemon Lolly ink applied with a Blending Brush.
      • Process: A Mask was created using a (¾”) Circle Punch and Masking Paper.  The Mask was adhered in the desired area.  The Sky was stamped.  The Mask was removed.  The Sun was colored.  Using the same stamp, the Sky was stamped again (4th Generation) on top of the previous stamping toning down the brightness of the Sun.
    • 4) Sand Pebbles – Pecan Pie ink.
    • 5) Grass – Copper Clay ink.
    • 6) Seashell – Using the Copper Clay Stampin’ Write Marker, a single Shell from the Circle Sayings stamp set Seashells image stamp was inked and stamped.  The Shell was colored with the Light Petal Pink and Light Cajun Craze Stampin’ Blends Markers.
    • 7) Additional Sand – Using the Sand Wedge image stamp again, more Crumb Cake ink was added to the foreground.
    • 8) The Scene was die-cut with the smaller Rectangle die from the Deckled Rectangles Dies set.
  • Sentiment Label: (2” x ⅜”) Copper Clay cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, A Note of Thanks, from the Sending Smiles stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.

All elements were adhered to the card base, completing the card.
