Water Colored Doodles – Thanks So Much

Hi!  Another color challenge…and I just wanted to play.  Got out a trusty doodle pen and went to town.

Mixing up the Just Us Girls (#691) colors with the sketch from Atlantic Hearts (#537) and sharing with Happy Little Stampers (August).

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Naturals White cardstock from my retired stash as it toned well with the water color paper.
• Focal Panel: (4¼” x 5½”) Fluid 100 Water Color Paper.
  • Using a Ruler and a pencil, I lightly mapped out the sketch pattern.
  • Using my Deluxe Fine Uniball Classic Black pen, I created the Plant Doodles in each box and added a wavy line around the boxes.  (Some designs were inspired by Pinterest examples)
  • Some of the Plants were colored with the Dark Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends Markers.
  • Water Color Washes were created with the Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green and Tahitian Tide Classic Stampin Ink™ Refills and applied with the Wide-Tipped Water Painter Brush.
  • The drying process was sped up by blasting the paper with the Heat Tool.
  • Once dry, gold accents were added using the retired Gold Stampin’ Dazzle Maker and the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.
  • The greeting, Thanks So Much, from the On-Line Exclusives Tropical Leaf stamp set was added with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

What a fun card to make.
