Floral Birthday

Design Time at Hand Stamped Sentiments (#420) and this fortnight we have an Inspiration Board.  Lots of pretty images to promote your creativity.  I was drawn to the bottom right Floral image.

I selected the Sketch Saturday (#731) Layout and elements from the Paper Craft Crew (#529) Tic Tac Toe board.  I am sharing this card with Happy Little Stampers (August) Birthday and Colorful Options (August).

Here is the result:

CIRCLE SAYINGS – APPLE BLOSSOMS DIES – TREE RINGS HYBRIS EF & DIES – HSSIC420 – SS731 – PCC529 – HLS August 2023 – COC August 2023

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Crumb Cake cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4⅛” x 5⅜”) Basic White cardstock dry-embossed with the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Ribbon Element: (12”) Linen Thread folded in half and secured with Scotch Tape to the right side of the Background Panel.
  • Circle Shapes: (4¼” x 5½”) Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.
    • The watercolor paper was dry-embossed with the Tree Rings Hybrid 3D Embossing Folder.
    • Using the Wide-Tipped Water Painter Brush and water colored with drops from the Classic Stampin’ Ink™ Refill Bottle, several Garden Green ink washes were applied to the five Tree Rings.
    • Once dry, the painted panel was die-cut and re-embossed with the both the Tree Rings Hybrid 3D Embossing Folder and the coordinating Tree Rings Hybrid Die.
  • Decoration – Blossoms: Granny Apple Green, Basic White and Lemon Lolly cardstock scraps.
    • Various Floral and Leaf dies from the retired Apple Blossoms Dies set were die-cut and assembled.
  • Sentiment Flag: (2” x ⅝”) Crumb Cake cardstock scrap.
    • The greeting, Happy Birthday, from the Circle Sayings stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
    • The label was hand-flagged with Paper Snips.

A bright fresh Summer Birthday card.  I like how all the elements came together.
