Coffee With Friends

Tuesday – Design time: Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#420).  Using the Stampin’ Up! Catalog Samples for inspiration and changing none, some or all the elements as you recreate a card is such a great place to start…

Today, I was inspired by Festive Friday (#140).  I am sharing this card with Time Out (#244).

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4½” x 3¼”) Black & White Zig Zag patterned piece of paper from the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper pack.
• Top Panel: (4¼” x 3”) White & Black Dotted patterned piece of paper, also from the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper pack.
• Shape – Polaroid Frame: (2⅝” x 3”) Basic Black cardstock die-cut with the (2⅛” x 2⅛”) Stitched Square die from the retired Stitched Shapes Dies set.
• Focal Image: (2⅝” x 3”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The Girls on the Bench image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with the Light and Dark Smoky Slate Stampin’ Write Marker.
• Sentiment Flags: (2” x ⅞”) Basic White and Smoky Slate cardstock scraps.
  • The sentiment, Coffee with a friend…, was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  Both Flags were lined up together and the “Flag Cut” was nipped in by hand with Paper Snips.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  Three Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added to the Polaroid Frame for a bit of bling.

Loving the old school monochromatic black and white photograph.
