Welcome back! A fun card for you today made with some found materials…
Playing with Just Us Girls (#690) to CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) a card created by one of the Design Team. I selected Lisa Kind’s card. My take aways? Masculine Card, General Layout, Patterned Paper, Cut Shape and Greeting with a large Word.
My choices were influenced by the following challenges: Make My Monday (#206) Space Travel; Heart’s Quest (#35) Stars; and Shopping Our Stash (#502) Vacation Destination Real or Imagined.
Here is the result:
Steps:
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Balmy Blue cardstock.
- Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Starry Sky patterned piece of paper from the retired Enjoy the Journey Designer Series Paper pack.
- The sentiment, You belong among the STARS, from the retired Greatest Journey stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
- Focal Image – Space Man: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock and cut Adhesive Sheet.
- As I do not have anything that was suitable in my stamp collection for a space theme, I coopted an illustrated image (Artist Unknown) from a magazine: Hagerstown Magazine Jan/Feb 2023 issue.
- The Space Man image was trimmed to (4” x 5¼’) and was affixed to the Basic White cardstock with an Adhesive Sheet.
- The Space Man image was fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
The Space Man was added to the Background Panel. For Heart’s Quest, a small Balmy Blue Heart was punched out with a retired Heart Punch and added to the Space Suit.
This turned out pretty cool! A great card for a little fellow or even a big one…
