Petal Palette – Thank You

Welcome back!  It’s the Weekend…Hooray…

Retro Rubber is one of my favorite groups to play with. It is a chance to pull out older treasured stamp sets and give them all the love that they deserve.  The current Retro Rubber (#211) challenge is a Tic Tac Toe board and I selected the first column – My Choice, Embossing and Ribbon.  My Choice would be color and the stamp set Petal Palette (circa 2018).

For the colors, I picked Bubble Bath, Lost Lagoon and Night of Navy to play with Creative Colour (#98) and the current Tuesday Morning (#716) sketch.

Here is the result:

PETAL PALETTE – RRCB211 – CCC98 – TMS716

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Bubble Bath cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Bubble Bath cardstock.
    • The small Floral image was randomly stamped with Bubble Bath ink for a tone-on-tone patterned paper look.
    • The panel was then dry-embossed with the retired Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Vertical Cross Strip Accent Mat: (2” x 5¼”) Lost Lagoon cardstock.
  • Vertical Cross Strip: (1¾” x 5¼”) Night of Navy cardstock.
    • The Leaf image was randomly stamped with Night of Navy ink, again for a tone-on-tone look.
    • The sentiment, Thank You, was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Silver Embossing Powder.
  • Shape – Circle: (2⅝”) Basic White cardstock scrap die-cut with the Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set and then also dry-embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Decoration – Flowers and Bird: Basic White cardstock scraps.
    • The Larger Floral and Bird images were stamped with Versamark ink and also heat-set with Silver Embossing Powder.
    • The images were water-colored using the Fine-Tipped Water Painter Brush with ink taken up from the Ink Pad lids.  Colors: Flowers – Bubble Bath; Leaves – Lost Lagoon; and Bird – Night of Navy.
    • The images were fussy-cut with Paper Snips.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble a version of the sketch and the Flowers and Bird were popped up with Dimensionals.  A bit of retired Smoky Slate Stitched Ribbon was tucked up under the Floral Leaf to complete the card.

You can never have enough Thank You cards and this one made with Petal Palette is so very pretty.
