Fun in the Sun – Waving Hello

How about a little Beach Fun?

I really do not have much in my collection to match the criteria required for a few summer July challenges.  However, I just received the FUN IN THE SUN Paper Pumpkin Kit for July so, this is an alternative card to fit the challenges.

Use Your Stuff (#488); The Four Seasons (July); and Inspiration Station (#51).

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
• Background Panel: (5¼” x 4”) Azure Afternoon colored Envelope interior and Wave patterned Envelope flap.
  • One of the kit Envelopes was cut apart.
  • The solid-colored interior was used as the background.
  • The adhesive was removed from the Envelope flap with a bit of cotton and water and the Wave patterned flap was trimmed and added to the middle of the background to represent the water.
  • The sentiment, Waving Hello!, from the kit was stamped with Azure Afternoon ink.
• Decoration – Beach Scene: The Umbrella, Ball, Pail, Scoop and Sandy Beach die-cut from the kit was trimmed apart and the white borders were removed with Paper Snips.
  • The Sand Beach was adhered to the bottom of the Background Panel and the rest of the scene was fitted in front and behind the sand.
• Decoration – Beach Chair: Basic White cardstock scrap die-cut with the Chair die from the retired Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies set and added to the scene.

What fun to head to the beach for a day or two in the height of Summer!  Hoping the ocean breezes keep you cool.
