Garden Zinnias – Cheerful Daisies Reimagined

Tuesday – Design time:  Hand Stamped Sentiments (#418) and Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#416).  Using the Stampin’ Up! Catalog Samples for inspiration and changing none, some or all the elements as you recreate a card is such a great place to start…

Be sure to check out the impressive selection of cards created by the Design Teams for more inspiration.  Join us and add your card!

Today, I opted to keep my card true to the Cheerful Daisies stamp set sample but change out the colors.  Hope you like it.

I was inspired by the Zinnias in my garden:

Here is the result:

CHEERFUL DAISIES BUNDLE – FOURSQUARE DECORATIVE MASKS – EXPOSED BRICK EF – HSS418 – CT416 – HLS Stencil – HLS Dies – EIS005

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Coastal Cabana cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (2¾” x 4½”) Basic White cardstock dry-embossed with the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Second Panel: (2¼” x 3⅞”) Basic White cardstock stenciled with one of the Stencils from the Foursquare Decorative Masks set using a Blending Brush and Coastal Cabana ink.
  • Circle: (2⅜”) Coastal Cabana cardstock punched out with the (2⅜”) Circle Punch and then also dry-embossed with the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Floral Decoration: Poppy Parade, Granny Apple Green and Daffodil Delight cardstock.
    • Four Layer Flowers and Three Layer Leaves die cut with almost all the Floral dies from the Cheerful Daisies Dies set.
    • Each individual Flower Base and Detail Accent was die-cut (6 pieces) from Poppy Parade.
    • Two Leave Bases and one selective Leaves section was die-cut from Granny Apple Green.
    • The Three Flower and Leaves attached die was cut twice.  One Poppy Parade and one Daffodil Delight.  The Leaves were snipped off of the Poppy Parade one.
    • The Stack:
      • Poppy Parade Base Flower and Granny Apple Green Base Leaves were set behind the Daffodil Delight piece.
      • The Poppy Parade Floral piece minus Leaves and the Granny Apple Green Selective Leaves were added off-set over the Daffodil Delight layer so only a bit of yellow was visible.
      • The Poppy Parade Detail Accents were then added on to the Flowers.
  • Twiggy Accents: Coastal Cabana cardstock scrap die-cut twice with the Twiggy die.
  • Sentiment Label: (2⅜” x ⅜”) Basic White cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, You made my day, was stamped with Coastal Cabana ink.

All elements were adhered to the Background Panel to resemble the sketch and the Panel was popped up with Dimensionals.  Three Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added to complete the card.

Lots of dimension on this pretty card.

Looking forward to seeing what you create.  Join us at either Hand Stamped Sentiments or Case-ing Tuesday or both.

  1. Oh now, how genius is this? I love these dies in our fun colors, and I love to see fun takes with them! Sometimes I’m blinded by a DSP in a suite to other color choices – this one is a fabulous alternative, in a super layout! Beautiful!
