Happy 4th. It is a super-duper hot day here today, so I am cooling off in the Studio for a bit of a play!
Two current challenges with the themes Funny and Humorous. Time Out (#241) and Crafter’s Café (#298). There is very little in my collection that is “punny”, but I do like the Crocodile and friends from the retired Oh Snap stamp set.
Over at Addicted to CAS (#241) the theme is Celebration. Best be that we do not forget to celebrate a bestie’s birthday…and I chose the Global Design Project (#401) Colors because I thought they would work nicely with the images I chose.
Bringing it all together, I opted to use the sketch layout suggested by Sunday Stamps (#312). That darn Crocodile was a little too big for the Slim-Line option, so I created a regular sized greeting card.
Here is the result:
Steps:
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock
- Decorative Strip: (⅛” x 4¼”) Bubble Bath, Parakeet Party and Lemon Lolly cardstock scraps.
- Focal Panel: (4⅞” x 3⅝”) Basic White cardstock.
- The Crocodile, Bird and Sentiments were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
- The Animals were colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers. Colors: Crocodile – Light and Dark Parakeet Party and Light Smoky Slate; Bird – Light and Dark Bubble Bath.
- The Sentiments were highlighted with the Dark Lemon Lolly Stampin’ Blend Marker.
A quick, clean and simple, simple stamped card. Just Stamps, Ink and Paper. The Focal Panel was popped up with Dimensionals.
Getting that celebratory birthday card post marked the day of…means it’s not really late, doesn’t it?
