Calm & Quiet – Enjoy The Moment

Welcome back!  All set for a holiday weekend?  With Canada Day and the Fourth of July upon us many have headed out of town.  This is my homage to the those that went to the cottage.

I specifically want to create for the Global Design Project’s 400th Challenge.  I opted to CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) the card on the left including the Layout, Textured Embossing and the Linen Thread.

Inspiration: Tic Tac Tic (#215) for Nature, Encouragement and the Free Space; Alphabet (Letter G) for Green and Creative Colour (#95) for the overall color palette and sharing with Krafty Chicks (#670) for their anything goes option.

Here is the result:

CALM & QUIET – ENJOY THE MOMENY – GDP400 – TTTC215 – CCC95 – KCC670 – ALPHABET Letter G

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Crumb Cake cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Very Vanilla cardstock dry-embossed with the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Accent Mat (3⅝” x 3⅝”) Mossy Meadow cardstock.
  • Focal Panel: (3½” x 3½”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The Dock Scene image from the Calm & Quiet Hostess stamp set was stamped with retired Soft Suede ink.
    • Using a Blending Brush, Soft Sea Foam ink was added to the overall scene opting to avoid the Dock area.
    • Again, using Blending Brushes, Crumb Cake and Mossy Meadow inks were added to the Dock area, the Bull Rushes and the Foliage area, respectively.
    • Using Stampin’ Blends Markers, details and shading were added.  Colors: Light Crumb Cake – Dock, Adirondack Chair, and Bull Rushes; Light Mossy Meadow – Foliage and Coffee Mug; Light Soft Sea Foam – Water and Bush Rushes; and Light Smoky Slate – Ducks and Rocks.
  • Sentiment Banner: (3¼” x ½”) Vellum cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, Good Things are worth waiting for, from the retired Enjoy The Moment stamp set was stamped with Mossy Meadow ink.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  Linen Thread was wrapped around the bottom of the Focal Panel.  The Focal Panel was popped up with Dimensionals and the sentiment went over the Linen Thread so that the full scene could be appreciated.

How wonderful to have your morning coffee on the dock with a bit of the morning mist still lingering…
