My Favorite Fruit – Sharing with Friends

Welcome back!  Time in the Studio and having a bit of fun with a few challenges today…

Global Design Project (#399) for their Fruit theme.  Even better than Lemonade from Lemons is Wine from Grapes…especially when shared with friends.  I chose the colors suggested by Sunday Stamps (#311) and the sketch from Freshly Made (#591) to create this card. I am sharing with Happy Little Stampers (June) as I chose to watercolor my images.

Here is the result:

TUSCAN VINEYARD – HALF FULL – GDP399 – SCC311 – FMS591 – HLS Watercolor June 2023

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
  • Focal Panel: (4¼” x 5½”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
    • Using a Ruler and the Basic Gray Stampin’ Write Marker, the panel was divided into the three sections suggested by the sketch.
    • The top and bottom sections were masked with Copy Paper and Repositionable Tape and the Vineyard Scene image from the retired Tuscan Vineyard was stamped with Basic Gray ink.
    • The middle section was similarly masked and the Grapes image from the same stamp set was stamped in the top section, also with Basic Gray ink.
    • Additionally, the sentiment – The best wines are the ones we drink with friends – from the retired Half Full stamp set was added to the bottom section with retired Merry Merlot ink.
    • Using a Blender Pen, some color was added to the Vineyard SceneTrees – Soft Sea Foam; Villa Building – Crumb Cake; Villa Roof – Merry Merlot; and Sky – retired Seaside Spray.
    • The completed panel was dry-embossed with the retired Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Focal Images – Grapes and Wine Bottle: Very Vanilla cardstock scraps.
    • The Grapes were stamped with Basic Gray ink and colored with Merry Merlot and Soft Sea Foam ink using the Blender Pen.
    • The Wine Bottle image from the Half Full stamp set was inked with the Basic Gray Stampin’ Write Marker avoiding the Label Detail.
    • The Bottle was masked and the Toscana Round Label image from the Tuscan Vineyard stamp set was stamped in the Label Area.
    • The Bottle was colored using the Blender Pen.  Colors: Bottle Neck – Crumb Cake and Wild Wheat; Bottle – Merry Merlot, Label – Seaside Spray, Crumb Cake, Soft Sea Foam and Merry Merlot.
    • Both images were fussy-cut with Paper Snips.

The panel was adhered to the card base and the Grapes and Wine Bottle were popped up with Dimensionals to complete the card.

A great card to add along with a Hostess gift (of wine) when visiting good friends…
