I know my ABC’s – Grade School Graduation.

Welcome back!  Hope you have a fabulous Sunday…

Playing with a few challenges…and pulling out some more retired products from my stash.

Inspire Create (#145) to create for a Child with the Color Throwdown (#747) color suggestion and bringing it together with the current Sketch Saturday (#728) layout and optional twist.

Here is the result.

GREETING CARD KIDS – MAKE A DIFFERENCE – BESIDE ME – ICC145 – CTD747 – SS728

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic Black cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (5¼” x 4”) Poppy Parade Striped patterned piece of paper from the retired 2022/2023 Brights Collection Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Frame Inset: (4” x 2¾”) Basic Black cardstock die-cut with that sized Rectangle die from the retired Stitched Rectangles Dies set.
    • The Letters: A, B, C, and D and the Numbers: 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 from the retired Make a Difference stamp were stamped with Craft White ink for a Black Board effect.
    • Using a Stipple Brush, “Chalk Dust” was added to the “Black Board” also with Craft White ink.
  • Cross Strip: (5½” x ¾”) Daffodil Delight Dotted patterned piece of paper also from the same Brights Collection Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Frame: (4⅜” x 3”) Tahitian Tide cardstock die-cut with both the (4⅜” x 3”) and (4” x 2¾”) Rectangle dies from the Stitched Rectangles Dies set.
  • Shape – Focal Image – School Kids: Basic White cardstock scrap.
    • The School Kids image from the retired Greeting Card Kids stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors used: Light and Dark Daffodil Delight, Tahitian Tide and Sweet Sorbet.  Additional colors: Skin – Ivory, Hair – Bronze and Bag – Light Crumb Cake.
    • The Children were fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
  • Sentiment Flag: Basic White cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, Celebrating You Today, from the Beside Me stamp set was also stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and die-cut with one of the Banner dies from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Children and the Sentiment Flag were popped up with Mini Dimensionals.

A really cute graduation card for the child advancing to the next grade.  Have a happy Summer!

  1. So sweet–and perfect for the long-awaited end of the school year (says an almost but not quite finished with the school year teacher…)! Thanks for joining us for this week’s Color Throwdown!

  2. What a special card to celebrate the end of a school year! So cute. It incorporates all the images and colors associated with elementary school.
