Summer Time – Best Day Ever

Who can resist a perfect summer day?  Several challenges with this theme…

Double Trouble (#140) partnering with Color Dare (#552); along with Make My Monday (#202) and for a Masculine bend: Cupcake Inspiration (#571) and Seize the Birthday (#263) for the current Global Design Project (#398) Sketch.

Here is the result.

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Crumb Cake cardstock.
• Background Panel: (5⅜” x 4⅛”) Crumb Cake cardstock dry-embossed with the retired Bark 3D Embossing Folder to mimic sand.
• Accent Panel (4¼” x 3”) Tahitian Tide cardstock.
• Focal Panel: (4¼” x 3”) Woody Station Wagon patterned piece of paper from the retired Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper pack.
• Focal Image – Beach Chair Guy: Basic White cardstock.
  • The Reclining Fellow image from the retired A Good Man stamp set was stamped with Pecan Pie ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors: Hat & Shorts – Light and Dark Tahitian Tide; T-Shirt – Light and Dark Bubble Bath; Chair – Dark Daffodil Delight, Skin – Ivory and Light Crumb Cake.
  • The image was fussy cut with Paper Snips.
  • It seems that he lost his flip flops when he took a nap.
• Sentiment Banner: Basic White cardstock scrap (2¼” x ⅞”) colored with the retired Light Seaside Spray Stampin’ Blends Marker.
  • The sentiment, Hope it’s your BEST DAY EVER, from the retired Let’s Set Sail stamp set was stamped with Pecan Pie ink.
  • The Banner was notched by hand with Paper Snips.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Reclining Fellow was popped up with Dimensionals.

What a great beach card.  Perfect sentiment for either a Birthday or a Father’s Day.  A well deserved day off for the special man!
