It’s Plane & Simple – You Send Me Soaring

Having fun with a few more challenges…and pulling out some retired products from my stash.

Tic Tac Toe (#213) Line including Black Card Base, Stripes, and a Just Because type sentiment; Alphabet (Letter F) for Flying; Creative Colour (#93) Old Olive, Starry Sky and Highland Heather for the current Try Stampin’ On Tuesday (#610) Sketch with a Masculine option.

Here is the result.

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic Black cardstock.
• Background Panel: (5¼” x 4”) Black & White Diamond Striped patterned piece of paper from the retired Pattern Party Designer Series Paper pack.
  • The Stripes were colored with the Light Old Olive, Starry Sky and Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends Markers.
• Cross Strip: (5¼” x 1”) Textured Old Olive cardstock scrap from my bin.
  • The strip was hand-torn.
• Focal Panel: (4” x 2½”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The Airplane and Trim images from the retired Plane & Simple stamp set were stamped.  Upper Trim with Highland Heather ink, Airplane with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and Lower Trim with Old Olive ink.
  • The Airplane was colored with Starry Sky ink using a Blender Pen.
  • The sentiment, You send me soaring, from the retired Sky is the Limit stamp set was also stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  A very simple card, just stamps, ink and paper.

A just because I love you card for the man in my life.
