Copper Vases – Birthday Card

Welcome back!  A brand-new week…

Playing with another Creating Connections Simple Stamping Template.  A clean and simple card with both Masking and Embossing Techniques.

I created a Birthday card using the both the Waves of Inspiration and Dainty Delight stamp sets with Copper Embossing Powder and the Stylish Shapes Dies for Time Out (#239) picking up on the Copper elements and the Floral Vase for the CAS on Friday (#258) suggested embossing technique(s).

Here is the result:

DAINTY DELIGHT – WAVES OF INSPIRATION – STYLISH SHAPES DIES – SU! CREATING CONNECTIONS – TOC239 – COS258

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
  • Accent Mat: (4” x 5¼”) Pecan Pie cardstock.
  • Focal Panel: (3⅞” x 5⅛”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
    • The Pelican was masked off with Masking Paper from the Bird and Pilons image from the Waves of Inspiration stamp set and stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Copper Embossing Powder.
    • The Pilons (Vases) were then masked off with Masking Paper.
    • The Leafy Branch image from the Dainty Delight stamp set was then stamped with Versamark ink and also heat-set with Copper Embossing Powder.
  • Circle Shape: (2½”)
    • Using my Big Shot Machine and the coordinating Big Shot Embossing Mats, the Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set was dry-embossed, encircling the Vases.
  • Sentiment Label(s): Very Vanilla cardstock scrap.
    • The greeting, Happy Birthday, from the Waves of Inspiration stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Copper Embossing Powder.
    • The two words were cut apart and closely trimmed with Paper Snips.
    • The edges of the labels were colored with the Pecan Pie Stampin’ Write Marker to create some definition and popped up on the card front with a thin strip cut from the edge of a Dimensionals sheet.

A very elegant, very clean and not too difficult card to create using the layout from the Simple Stamping Template.
