Can You See…Home of the Brave

Welcome back! Happy Friday.  Have any great weekend plans?

Today, I am playing with The Card Concept (#196) theme, flowers and colors with the Sunday Stamps (#310) sketch.  I am also sharing this card with Krafty Chicks (#666) to use a stamp and Use Your Stuff (#485) for anything goes.

Here is the result:

LAND OF THE FREE – GERANIUMS DIES – TCC196 – SSC310 – KCC666 – UYS485

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Crumb Cake cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (5¼” x 4”) Basic White cardstock.
  • Cross Strip Panels: (5” x 1¼”) Azure Afternoon cardstock (instead of Navy), (5” x 1½”) Basic White cardstock and (5” x ¾”) Real Red cardstock.
    • All Panels were dry-embossed with the Cross-Hatch Basics 3D Embossing Folder (an On-Line Exclusive item).
  • Sentiment Circle: (2½” x 2”) Azure Afternoon cardstock scrap.
    • The Verse from the retired Land of the Free stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
    • A section of the Verse was die-cut with the (1⅝”) Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
  • Decoration – Geranium Plant: Crumb Cake, Pecan Pie, Garden Green, Old Olive, Real Red and Poppy Parade cardstock scraps.
    • Using various dies from the retired Geranium Dies set, the Potted Flower was built.
    • The Pot was also dry-embossed with the Cross-Hatch Basics 3D Embossing Folder.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  Some of the Flowers were popped up with Dimensionals.

How fun to decorate the table with bright red geraniums when having the first summer alfresco dinner…

  1. What a fun way to incorporate Independence Day into a standard card subject. I love the R, W & B back panels. Really a wonderful take on the seasonal sights of the day. Thanks for joining Sunday Stamps this week.
