Tempest in a Teapot – Glad we’re friends

Happy Weekend!  Welcome back to the Inque Spot Studio.

Are you a fan of “Cozy Mysteries”?  I am.  I love a perfect little murder mystery and the current challenge over at AAA Cards (#236) is to be inspired by a movie, song or book.  I, of course, went with book(s).

Additionally, I was inspired by The Card Concept (#191a) for Photo impression and Colors and bringing the two together, the sketch over at Global Design Project (#386).

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
• Background Panel: (5¼” x 4”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The sentiment, Glad we’re friends!, from the retired Fable Friends stamp set was stamped with Granny Apple Green ink.
  • The panel was then dry-embossed with the Cross-Hatch Basics 3D Embossing Folder.
• Cross Strip: (4½” x ¾”) Misty Moonlight Leafy patterned piece of paper from the retired Boho Indigo Medley Specialty Designer Series Paper pack.
• Three Shapes – Teacups & Teapot: Images colored and fussy-cut with Paper Snips from the Teapots and Teacups patterned piece of paper from the retired Just Add Color Specialty Designer Series Paper pack.
  • The selected images were colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Chosen colors were: Light and Dark Balmy Blue, Light and Dark Granny Apple Green, Dark Daffodil Delight and Light Night of Navy.
  • Hard to see but very pretty, the Teapot and Teacup “White” was liberally covered with Wink of Stella Glitter.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch which was flipped to the horizontal position.  One Teacup and the Teapot were popped up with Dimensionals.

Another favorite pastime?  Sharing a cup of tea with a good friend.  Won’t you join me?
