Beautiful Brushstrokes – Wrapped Bouquet

To show you some of the new product available in the 2021 Spring Mini Catalog, today’s inspiration was a sketch from Freshly Made Sketches – FMS471 and a color combination from the Global Design Project – GDP277.

I had a play with the new dies from the Beautiful Brushstrokes Die Set.  These dies come with a coordinating stamp set, Brushed Blooms.  This is a nice set.

Here is the result:

BEAUTIFUL BRUSHSTROKES – WRAPPED BOUQUET – FMS471 – GDP277

I created a stencil with the die of the brushstrokes and used it to add color to my Basic White background panel.  First in Sahara Sand and then in Blushing Bride.  I added the color with Blending Brushes.  I really like the brushes as you get a nice soft and smooth application of color.

The sketch has a circle element and I cut a Rococo Rose frame using two of the Stitched Stapes Circle Dies. As well as cutting a circle into the background panel. I set the frame into the opening.  To be sure I had the placement of the sentiment, Love You Bunches, from the Wrapped Bouquet stamp set where I wanted it, I stamped it on to a scrap of Basic White cardstock and positioned it in behind.

The dies in the Beautiful Brushstrokes Die Set include the pieces to make a three-step floral rose in two sizes and a leaf sprig.  Using the colors per the challenge, I created three roses and one leaf to use as the four elements placed around the circle frame.

I chose to trim the edges of the background panel with the Stitched Rectangle Dies and matted it with a Basic White layer and added a Rococo Rose card base.

As a side note, I chose the sentiment from Wrapped Bouquet because it had a smaller footprint.  The sentiments in the companion stamp set Brushed Blooms were too large for my circle.  Another day and another card.  Something to look forward to.

I might use this as the card I give to my husband for Valentine’s.  We don’t really do hearts…but flowers…that is a whole other story…

Cheers,  Jolanda!
