Here is what I created:

A quick, bright card to illustrate the Faux Tile Technique using the Tasteful Touches stamp set and the colors, Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana, Granny Apple Green and Pacific Point.
In these series of photos, you can see my process for the Faux Tile Technique.
Step 1: Score your cardstock (Basic White) at regular intervals, square or diagonal. I used a 1” measure.

Step 2: Flip your cardstock 90 degrees and continue scoring. I chose to use a Scoring Board with a Diagonal Plate but this is not required…

Step 3. Choose your “Tile” Background stamp. I chose the Filigree Flower one from Tasteful Touches and repeated the pattern in the colors, Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana and Granny Apple Green. You will notice that the indented score lines do not pick up any ink. This gives the impression of tiles.

Step 4. To play up the tile effect, I have added a little sponging to the scored indents to create shadow and the illusion of raised tile and lowered grout lines. I used a thin wedge of sponge and folded in half.
Step 5. For interest, I added the larger darker leaf pattern in Pacific Point over “tiles”.

I did an inverted flip of the sketch and put the circle sentiment, Hello, from Quite Curvy in the lower left. This arrangement was more pleasing given the final stamped panel I chose to use.

So, what do you think? Do you like this card? Give the Faux Tile Technique a try.
