HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAYS – Blow Your Candles

Keep Stamping Saturday // Sunday Sketch – SS031

I just can’t seem to keep up.  Perhaps it is because the holidays are rolling in…

My Saturday Keep Stamping theme was Candles. According to the international calendar of days, Saturday was Candle Day.  Saturday came and went.

Maybe I could combine Saturday’s theme with Sunday’s Sketch.  Sounded like a great idea.  Yet again, the day disappeared before I knew it.

So today is the day.  I was determined to get this card made!

The new Colour INKspiration CI91 Color Challenge came out today and I played around with the color scheme: Bermuda Bay, Gorgeous Grape, Granny Apple Green, Magenta Madness, Mango Melody and Pretty Peacock. 

Christmas Candles or Birthday Candles?  I decided to go with Birthday, especially given the color palette.

Here is what I came up with…

Combining the Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper with a little “Ribbon” of the Rainbow Gimmer Paper, the Happiest of Birthdays stamp set for the sentiment with the star bubbles from the Pattern Play stamp set worked well with the colored candles from the retired stamp set Merry Patterns.

The sketch was a short card with a pop-over element. I chose to use the Stitched Nested Label dies instead of a circle as the pop-over.
