Pretty Parasol

Friday Simple Stamping – Kindness Day – November 13, 2020

Guess what!  It is Kindness Day, today.  I wanted to create something bright and cheery to spread a little kindness…

The featured stamp set is Pretty Parasol and the sentiment: You Make the Day Brighter.  The color palette is yellow, purple and gray.

Easy

PRETTY PARASOL – BEGINNER

The smaller parasol is stamped directly on to the light gray herringbone pattern from the Peony Garden DSP pack in Gorgeous Grape.  The flowers and the sentiment are stamped in Memento Black.  Using a selection of Stampin’ Blends, the images have been colored in.  I love coloring…a hold out from those long-ago years with coloring books and crayons.  A wee bit of bling with the addition of a Rhinestone to the umbrella tip.

Step Up

PRETTY PARASOL – CASUAL

Using all the same materials and the addition of the coordinating Umbrella Builder Punch and Whisper White cardstock, this card is created with the larger parasol.  I changed the orientation of the layout to the horizontal position.

Note:  Embellishment Opportunity!  I originally stamped the sentiment directly to the background.  It was slightly off kilter.  I re-stamped it on to another piece of cardstock, punched it out with the Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch, added a floral element and sponged the edges in Gorgeous Grape.  A nice save, wouldn’t you say?

Stepped Up

PRETTY PARASOL – AVID

More layers, more Rhinestones, the addition of a ribbon and bow along with a piece of handmade patterned paper.

To Step this card up, I created the horizontal stripe in Daffodil Delight and Smoky Slate using the Stampin’ Blends.  That and the Gorgeous Grape colored Crinkled Ribbon is a nice compliment to the Peony Garden DSP, the cardstock layers and the coloring of the stamped images.

Sweet cards to let someone know that they make your day brighter just knowing them.  What could be kinder than to let them know?  Send them out as soon as you make them!
