Paper Pumpkin Play Date – Seriously Amazing

September 3, 2020

Today I created a couple of alternatives with the kit: SERIOUSLY AMAZING from August 2014.  This kit was full on with bright colors.  It was fun see what was still in the box.

Messing around with the contents, I settled on pieces from a card front.  The colors in the stripe led me to Crushed Curry, which I used for the card bases on both cards. The stripes and the yellow color made me happy and I felt they needed to be birthday cards.

It’s Your Birthday (Shaker Card)

I decided to dry emboss the Crushed Curry panel with one of the Wrapped in Texture embossing folders.  I added the multi-color strip to the left side.  From one of the original mini-card cutouts, the Star, I made a Shaker Card element as I still had Sequins.  I stamped the sentiment from the kit on to a piece leftover from a Card Back and cut it with the smallest Stitched Rectangle Die.  Another pop of color was added by using a rectangle of Melon Mambo behind the sentiment.

Happy Birthday!

For this card, I kept it clean and simple.  Using the Hinge Step Method of stamping that is very easy with the Stamparatus, the Memento Tuxedo Black inked sentiment was added to the right side of the Whisper White panel.  The open line art stamp was then colored in with the Mango Melody Dark Stampin’ Blend.  It is a close match to Crushed Curry.  Alternatively, the Crushed Curry Stampin’ Write Marker could have been used.  Post coloring, the panel was dry embossed using the Tasteful Textiles 3D embossing folder.

To create the element decorating the left side, I added the multi-colored strips to the envelope closure dots as they were in the sheet of die cuts. After popping the dots out, I adhered the decoration to the card.  I like this element as it reminds me of old-fashioned candy sticks.

Do you have a favorite? I like really like how these colors coordinated so nicely together.
