Sketched Garden – Black and White Birthday

Design Tean Time for the Atlantic Hearts (#680) Sketch.

Influenced by: Colorful Options (#2605) for a Black & White card; AAA Birthday Cards #85) celebrating Seven Years; and sharing with Heart’s Quest Celebration of Love (#2605) choosing the Birthday option.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic Black cardstock.
• Vertical Strips: (1⅛” x 5”) x 2 and (1¼” x 5”) Basic White cardstock.
• Horizontal Strips: (3¾” x 1”) x 3 Black and White Dotted patterned pieces of paper from the Artisan Sketched Garden Designer Series Paper pack.
• Oval Shape: Fussy-Cut Floral Spray, also from one of the Floral patterned papers in the Artisan Sketched Designer Series Paper pack.
• Sentiment Tags: Basic Black cardstock scrap.
  • The sentiment, Happy Birthday, from the Lovely Arrangements stamp set, an On-Line Exclusive product, was stamped with Versamark and heat-set with White Embossing Powder and then cut apart and trimmed with Paper Snips.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Flowers were popped up with Dimensionals and a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added for a bit of bling.

I enjoy creating Black & White cards.  There is something quite elegant about them.  Just perfect to celebrate a significant anniversary date.
