Hello there! Time to introduce you to the challenges for The Card Concept (#226) Inspiration Board and the Atlantic Hearts (#676) Sketch. As a Design Team member for each of them, I chose to combine them this time around.
Here is the result:
Steps:
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Crumb Cake cardstock, choosing to flip the sketch to the vertical position.
- Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock cut in two on the diagonal, so that I could dry-emboss the Stars using only the “Star” section of the retired Star-Crossed Embossing Folder.
- Accent Panel: (4¼” x 5½”) Crumb Cake cardstock die-cut twice with the Circle Panel die from the Lovely Arrangements Dies set, an On-Line Exclusive product, overlapped to create eight rows.
- Cross Strip #1: (4” x 1½”) Real Red cardstock die-cut with the Point Border die from the retired Basics Borders Dies set.
- Cross Strip #2: (4” x ⅞”) Night of Navy cardstock.
- Ribbon Bow: (16”) Whisper White retired Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon.
- Sentiment Block: Night of Navy cardstock scrap.
- The sentiment, You make the world a better place, from the new Fern & Flora stamp set, available in May, was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder, as was the Frame image and then fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
- Decoration – Stars: Real Red and Night of Nany cardstock scraps punched with the retired Mini-Star Punch.
All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the flipped version of the sketch, putting the sentiment below the cross strips and decorating the top area with the stars.
A patriotic card suitable for Memorial Day.
