No Matter the Weather – Good Vibes

Welcome back!  Design Team Time for Facebook’s Case-ing Tuesday (#559).  Where we select cards from the Catalogs and remake them as we are inspired.  Today’s inspiration can be found on page 51 of the Jan – Apr Mini Catalog.

My design choices were influenced by: Paper Players (#780) for a Spring Showers theme, Inspired By (#382) Gum Boots choosing the color Yellow; and Just Us Girls (#817) with a Spring theme and to use Dies but swapping out Dies for Punches.

Here is the result:

UNDER MY UMBRELLA – NO MATTER THE WEATHER BONUS – THE RIGHT WORDS – CTT559 – PP780 – IB382 – JUGS817

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Daffodil Delight cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (3½” x 4⅞”) trimmed Card Base from the No Matter the Weather March 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit.
  • Cross Strip: (4” x 1½”) Daffodil Delight Striped patterned piece of paper from the inside of one of the Paper Pumpkin Kit’s Envelopes.
  • Block: (2” x 2½”) Vellum Specialty Paper.
  • Decoration – Umbrella: Basic Gray cardstock scrap and Daffodil Delight Striped patterned piece of paper from the flap of the Paper Pumpkin Kit’s Envelope.
    • The Umbrella image from the retired Under My Umbrella stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then over stamped with the small Floral image from the same stamp set.
    • The centers of the Flowers were colored with the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends Marker.
    • The Umbrella and the Umbrella Handle were punched out with the coordinating retired Umbrella Builder Punch.
  • Additional Decoration – Rubber Boots: Basic White cardstock scrap.
    • The Boots Outline image from the No Matter the Weather Bonus Paper Pumpkin stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and the Floral Boots In-Fill image was stamped with Daffodil Delight ink.  The Boot Soles were colored with the Light Gray Granite Stampin’ Blends Marker and then fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
  • Sentiment Label: Gray Granite cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, Sending Good Vibes, from the recently retired The Right Words stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder and trimmed to (2⅝” x ½”).

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Umbrella and the top Boot were popped up with Dimensionals.

What a fun card to make…
