Bumbling Along Wishing You A Lovely Day

Hi again!  Chasing a few deadlines…

The challenges: Moving Along with the Times (#187) featuring Bees; Ellibelle’s Garden Party (#13) Anything Garden related; Time Out (#309) to add a Clear Element; and choosing the Stampin’ Up! Only (#397) to case a card from page 23 of the Jan – Apr Mini Catalog.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Old Olive cardstock.
• Background Panel: (5¼” x 4”) Yellow Daisies patterned piece of paper from the retired Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper pack.
• Ribbon: (4⅛”) Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon (retired) cut diagonally on the left edge (a see through or clear element).
• Sentiment Block: (2½” x 2”) Old Olive cardstock.
  • The Leaf Edging image, from the Friendly Foliage stamp set, an On-Line Exclusive product, was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder, as was the sentiment, Wishing you a lovely day, from the Paradise Garden stamp set, another On-Line Exclusive product.
• Greenery: (2” x 3”) Basic White cardstock scrap die-cut with the Leaf die from the recently retired Charming Day Dies set.
  • The Leaves were watercolored with Old Olive ink added with a Water Painter brush.
• Bees: (4” x 1½”) Vellum Sheets scrap (another see through element).
  • The Outline Bee image from the retired Dragonfly Dreams stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The ink drying was sped up by zapping it with the Heat Tool.
  • Once dry, the coordinating Infill Bee image was stamped on the reverse side with Daffodil Delight ink and also dried with the Heat Tool.
  • The Bees were then fussy-cut with Paper Snips.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the mirror image of the sketch.  The Bees were popped up with Mini Dimensionals and a few Clear Sequins from the retired Peaceful Poppies Sequins pack were added.

Big Fat Bumbles are buzzing about our garden already…
