Thankful Garden – Birthday Wishes

Welcome back!  Design Team Time for Facebook’s Case-ing Tuesday (#556).  Where we select cards from the Catalogs and remake them as we are inspired.  Today’s inspiration can be found on page 26 of the Jan – Apr Mini Catalog.

My design choice was influenced by the Color Dare (#694) Duo

Here is the result:

THANKFUL GARDEN – SIMPLY SAID – CT556 – CD694

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • Upper Panel: (5¼” x 2½”) Timid Tiger Floral patterned paper from the Floral Charm Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Bottom Panel: (5¼” x 1½”) Basic White cardstock dry-embossed with the retired Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Cross Strip: (5¼” x ½”) Graden Green cardstock dry-embossed with the retired Glass Embossing Folder.
  • Small Shape – Circle: (2¼” x 2¼”) Timid Tiger cardstock.
    • The sentiment, Birthday Wishes, from the Simply Said stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder and then die-cut with the (2⅛”) Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
  • Large Shape – Flower: (3½” x 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The Flower image from the newly retired Thankful Garden stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
    • Using the coordinating retired Thankful Garden Decorative Masks, Blending Brushes and ink, the Flower was colored.  Colors Chosen: Mask #1 – Timid Tiger (lightly); Mask #2 – Peach Pie; Mask #3 – Timid Tiger; #Mask #4 – Garden Green (lightly); and Mask #5 – Garden Green.
    • The Flower was then die-cut with the coordinating die from the retired Thankful Garden Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the mirror image of the sketch.  The die-cut Flower was popped up with Dimensionals.

A soft and pretty floral birthday card.

Looking forward to seeing what you create with this week’s sketch.  I hope you play along.
