Far Away Landscapes – To a Great Guy

Design Time: Cardz 4 Guyz (#384) with a suggested color palette of light blue and brown.

Other current Masculine Challenges: Inspire Create (#211); Little Red Wagon (#849); The Male Room (#208) also asking for blue and brown.

Here is the result:

FAR AWAY LANDSCAPES – NATURE’S SYMPHONY – C4G384 – ICC211 – LRW849 – TMR208

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Crumb Cake cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (5” x 3¾”) Early Espresso cardstock dry-embossed with the retired Subtle 3D Embossing Folder a little bit of texture.
  • Accent Mat: (4⅛” x 3¼”) Balmy Blue cardstock.
  • Focal Panel: (3⅞” x 3”) Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.
    • The Rolling Hills and River image from the Far Away Landscapes stamp set, an On-Line Exclusive product, was stamped with Stazon Timber Brown ink, that I have in my stash of inks.
    • Using Water Painters, also an On-Line Exclusive product, the scene was watercolored.  Colors chosen: Sky and River – Balmy Blue; Trees – Pecan Pie; Ground and Hills – Crumb Cake.   The ink was picked up off a Clear Stamp Block that had been pressed into the ink pads.
    • Once dry, the sentiment, To a great guy, from the Nature’s Symphony stamp set was also stamped with the Stazon Timber Brown ink.

All elements were adhered to the card base.  Some Linen Thread was wrapped and tied off, completing the card.

An all-purpose guy card…just customize what you need to say inside. Birthday, Retirement, Thank You…
