Winter Blossoms – Friendly Foliage

Welcome back!  Monday and the start of a brand-new week.

Several challenges are sporting the color Red.

Inspiration Station (#82) Mood Photo reminded me that I had some pretty blossom dies in the retired Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies set, so I dug it out and paired it with the Paper Craft Crew (#660) Sketch.

This was the start and I am sharing my card with: Four Seasons (#2602) Winter Reds; Triple B (#2602) for Red & White Blossoms; and Little Red Wagon (#845) Seeing Red.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
• Background Panel: (5⅜ x 4⅛”) Basic White cardstock dry-embossed with the Beautiful Pattern 3D Embossing Folder, an On-Line Exclusive product.
• Accent Mat: (5⅜” x 2¼”) Real Red cardstock.
• Focal Panel: (5⅜” x 2”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The sentiment, Thinking of you, from the Friendly Foliage stamp set, another On-Line Exclusive product, was stamped with retired Pebbled Path ink and then dry-embossed with the retired Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.
• Decoration: Blossoms & Branches: Pebbled Path and Basic White cardstocks die-cut with Branch die and the coordinating Blossoms dies from the retired Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies set.
  • Using a stubbed craft paint brush from my stash, Real Red ink was added to the center of the Base Floral pieces.
  • The Flowers were adhered together, and a bit more Real Red ink was added to the Top Floral pieces with a fine-tipped craft paint brush and a little water.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Branches and Flowers were arranged and adhered in place completing the card.
